The Familia Rodriguez Scholarship Fund
The Familia Rodriguez Scholarship Fund, in honor of Ramon Rodriguez Rivera, is established by Ramon and Christina Rodriguez, Xavier University alumni. This endowed fund is established in honor of Ramon Rodriguez Rivera who inspired a love of learning, emphasized hard work, and who made significant sacrifices to enable his son, Ramon, to attend and graduate from Xavier University. The recipient is apprised to be a merit scholar, one who is excellent to outstanding in her or his achievement and demonstrates a commitment to others through service to their community. This endowed fund will provide a stackable scholarship award to a full-time incoming first year student of Puerto Rican decent (either born in Puerto Rico or having at least one parent born in Puerto Rico) with financial need. This scholarship is to be awarded for one academic year, but may be renewed for up to, but no more than, three successive years. The awardee will demonstrate a commitment to their education by earning a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and maintaining that GPA throughout their college years to remain eligible. They will also share values that reflect a passion for service for others/less fortunate and their community in concert with the Jesuit philosophy to be men and women for and with others.
