The Harold C. Schott Foundation Endowed Scholarship

It shall be awarded to a student who is impacted by financial constraints and who has shown academic promise, so that the dream of attending and graduating from Xavier University becomes a reality.

The scholarship shall be awarded per the criteria as outlined here:

a) The fund shall be invested and income distributions shall be authorized in accordance with policies established from time to time by the board of trustees of Xavier University. If the Scholarship’s intended endowment of $1,000,000.00 is funded over a period of time, payments made toward the pledge shall be credited in the same manner.

b) This scholarship will be awarded after the provision of any non-repayable merit-based aid the student may receive from Xavier, any non-repayable federal aid the student may receive and any non-repayable aid a student may receive external to Xavier to cover up to 75% of the annual cost of the students’ expenses described in sub-section e) below.

c) The Scholarship will be stackable, meaning eligible students may receive the Scholarship in addition to receiving other grants, loans, or forms of aid from Xavier or other sources.

d) The Scholarship will be renewable, meaning that the same student may receive the Scholarship in successive years as long as all other selection criteria are met.

e) The Scholarship will include tuition and could include, room, board, fees and books at the University’s option, provided that the recipient lives on campus. To receive tuition assistance it would not be necessary for the recipient to live on campus.

f) The recipient shall complete and file a FAFSA form annually.

g) The Scholarship may be awarded to one or more recipients.

h) The maximum a recipient shall receive will be 75% of the sum of the expenses described in sub-section e) above.

i) A scholarship award based on the income distribution shall be made each year to one or more enrolled, full-time students at Xavier University. Recipients must meet academic requirements determined by Xavier University financial aid policies.
